TX-STAR Speech Language Services is seeking a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher for school-based assignments in the San Antonio area. You will deliver targeted dyslexia intervention and lead small-group sessions to strengthen decoding, fluency, and reading skills within district-aligned plans.

Ideal candidates hold a Dyslexia Therapist credential or teaching certification and experience with Read by Design, with a collaborative approach to ARD, IEP, and 504 processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Education or Special Education
• Dyslexia Therapist credential or teaching certification
• Hands-on experience implementing Read by Design
• Knowledge of dyslexia identification, structured literacy, and evidence-based reading interventions
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently while managing students, schedules, and documentation

TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts across Texas to provide specialized support for students with a variety of learning needs. We are currently seeking Dyslexia Therapists/Teachers for school-based assignments in the San Antonio area.

This opportunity is ideal for educators who are dedicated to literacy development and want to help students with dyslexia gain confidence through systematic, research-supported reading instruction.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher, you will deliver focused intervention services that help students strengthen foundational reading, spelling, and language abilities.

In this role, you will:

• Provide dyslexia intervention using the Read by Design instructional program

• Lead individual and small-group sessions focused on decoding, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and overall reading development

• Track student performance and use progress data to guide instructional decisions

• Prepare complete and accurate records of services, attendance, and student growth

• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and other support professionals

• Participate in ARD, IEP, and Section 504 meetings and offer relevant updates and recommendations

• Deliver instruction and required accommodations in accordance with student plans and district procedures

Qualifications for This Position

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related discipline

• Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher credential or current teaching certification

• Hands-on experience implementing the Read by Design program

• Understanding of dyslexia identification, structured literacy, and evidence-based reading intervention practices

• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and time-management skills

• Ability to work independently while managing assigned students, schedules, and documentation
