Job summary

TX-STAR Speech Language Services is seeking Certified Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area. You will design and deliver individualized instruction while partnering with campus teams and families to meet each student’s unique learning needs.

Responsibilities include creating IEPs, modifying curriculum, using progress data to drive decisions, and participating in ARD/IEP meetings, with on-site placements from pre-K through high school.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Texas Special Education teaching certification.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP procedures, differentiated instruction, and school-based SPED services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Previous experience teaching in a school-based special education setting is a plus.

  • Provide specialized instruction based on students’ academic levels, learning profiles, and educational goals.
  • Modify curriculum, classroom materials, assignments, and instructional methods to improve accessibility.
  • Use assessments, classroom observations, and progress data to guide instructional decisions.
  • Support students in building academic skills, self-confidence, social development, and emotional well-being.
  • Incorporate assistive technology, visual supports, and other instructional resources when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with general education teachers, related-service providers, campus staff, and families.
  • Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and contribute to the development of measurable student goals.
  • Maintain accurate service records, progress reports, and other required special education documentation.
  • Follow district procedures and applicable state and federal special education requirements.

TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with individualized educational services and support. We are currently seeking Certified Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Qualifications for This Position
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
  • Current and valid Texas Special Education teaching certification
  • Strong knowledge of IEP procedures, differentiated instruction, and school-based special education services
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Strong classroom leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Previous experience teaching in a school-based special education setting is a plus
