Job summary

TX-STAR Speech Language Services in Texas is seeking a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area. You will deliver targeted dyslexia intervention to help students build reading and language skills using the Read by Design program, while collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families.

The role supports literacy development across grade levels with full-time or part-time placements, bi-weekly pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or related field
• Certification as a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher or valid teaching certificate
• Experience implementing the Read by Design program
• Knowledge of evidence-based literacy interventions and dyslexia identification
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage a caseload and work independently

Responsibilities

• Deliver dyslexia intervention services using Read by Design
• Provide small group or one-on-one instruction in reading, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and spelling
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of services and progress
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
• Participate in ARD/IEP/504 meetings and contribute recommendations
• Ensure instruction and accommodations align with student plans and district guidelines
