Job summary

TX-STAR Speech Language Services in Houston seeks a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher to deliver reading interventions in school settings. The role focuses on helping students with dyslexia gain confidence through research-based instruction and collaboration with teachers, families, and districts across Texas.

You will implement the Read by Design program, track progress with data, and participate in ARD/IEP meetings while coordinating with administrators and support staff to ensure services meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
• Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher credential or current teaching certification.
• Hands-on experience implementing Read by Design.
• Understanding of dyslexia identification and evidence-based reading interventions.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage assigned students, schedules, and documentation independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide dyslexia intervention using Read by Design.
• Lead individual and small-group sessions focused on decoding, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and reading development.
• Track student performance and use progress data to guide instructional decisions.
• Prepare complete and accurate records of services, attendance, and student growth.
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and other support professionals.
• Participate in ARD, IEP, and Section 504 meetings and offer updates and recommendations.
• Deliver instruction and required accommodations per student plans and district procedures.
