Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Sports Instructor to lead a group of children and adults in sports classes. Classes are on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings.

Qualifications

• One to two years related experience preferred (e.g., sports coach or volunteer).
• CPR, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications, Child Abuse Prevention Training are provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Coaches sports programs using curriculum and own skill development focus.
• Demonstrates skills and outcomes to foster learning.
• Maintains group focus; provides positive redirection and coaching presence.
• Meets players where they are; offers achievable drills and games.
• Maintains safe play environment and enforces guidelines.
• Prepares for each class; sets up field and cleans up.
