Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston invites applications for a part-time Sports Instructor to lead youth and adult sports classes at Wang YMCA. You will coach with the provided curriculum and your own ideas, emphasizing skill development, sportsmanship, and the YMCA values of Caring, Honest, Respect and Responsibility.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience and CPR/First Aid certifications; training is provided upon hire. Part-time afternoon and weekend availability preferred.

Qualifications

• One to two years related experience preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications; trainings provided upon hire.
• Child Abuse Prevention Training provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Coaches sports programs using provided curriculum and self-designed activities focusing on skill development and YMCA values.
• Demonstrates skills and outcomes to foster learning.
• Maintains group focus and positive coaching presence.
• Meets players where they are in age and skill and challenges them with appropriate drills.
• Ensures safe playing environment and age-appropriate play.
