Qualifications

• MA Educator Licensure in World Language, 5-12
• Language(s): Portuguese preferred; dual licensure in Portuguese and Spanish preferred
• Bachelor's with major/concentration in teaching field required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Experience as a world language teacher at the middle and/or secondary levels preferred
• MA Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Teacher Endorsement preferred
• Demonstrated experience in motivating students of varying ability levels, skills, and achievements

Responsibilities

• Develop curricular objectives and implementation strategies aligned with state standards.
• Design, implement, and revise curricular units and grading rubrics.
• Develop daily and long-range plans for each course taught.
• Advance excellence and equity through instructional practices for diverse learners.
• Implement varied instructional techniques to ensure engagement and growth.
• Keep accurate grading and attendance records.
• Develop effective relationships with students.
• Evaluate progress in world language proficiency (speaking, listening, reading, writing).
• Communicate with students, families, colleagues, counselors, and administrators about progress.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Attend professional meetings and serve on curriculum committees.
