Job summary

South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a Titling & Licensing Specialist III to process licenses, registrations and related transactions. The role involves examining documents, assisting business customers, and administering knowledge tests for various driver licenses.

A background in clerical work and policy explanation is essential, with training in CDL licensing provided. You will work in a climate-controlled office, handle payments, and support customers through the DMV

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with clerical experience.
• Must complete nationwide criminal background check including fingerprints.
• Able to explain DMV policies to customers.
• Willing to undergo CDL testing training.
• Ability to work in a climate-controlled office; standing/walking may be required.

Responsibilities

• Examine, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses and registrations.
• Manage business customer needs such as licensing and insurance.
• Process motor vehicle registration requests and issue licenses.
• Administer knowledge tests for CDL/ Class A–G licenses.
• Verify eye screening statements and review applications for fraud.
• Answer customer inquiries and direct customers to appropriate areas.
• Operate camera system and software to issue credentials.
• Handle payments and reconcile daily reports; maintain records per policy.
• Perform related duties as assigned by manager.
