The Jonus Group is seeking a skilled Commercial Lines Underwriter in Texas to evaluate applications, renewals, and endorsements for commercial lines of insurance, ensuring adherence to underwriting standards and fostering strong agent relationships.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of underwriting experience, deep knowledge of commercial lines, and strong communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; offers include professional development and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial lines products and coverages.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate new applications, renewals, and endorsements for commercial lines.
• Assess risks and determine insurability based on property/operations hazards.
• Recommend risk improvements and determine pricing using risk modifiers.
• Secure facultative reinsurance where applicable.
• Maintain knowledge of underwriting practices and laws.
• Educate agents by presenting technical information on commercial insurance issues.
• Collaborate with marketing and claims to review agency performance.
• Communicate with regulators, reinsurers, agents, and co-workers.
