Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher to instruct, assess, and support students in assigned classes. You will plan lessons, monitor progress, and maintain records in alignment with CPS standards.

The role requires completing student teaching and obtaining the appropriate Illinois teaching certificate (PEL or ELS), and you will work under the supervision of a school principal to promote a positive learning environment and student success.

Qualifications

• Student teaching and coursework completed to obtain Illinois teaching certificate(s) issued by ISBE.
• Knowledge of subject matter aligned with certification requirements and effective teaching practices.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional plans and written lesson plans aligned with objectives.
• Maintain attendance records, assess pupil progress, and communicate with parents.
• Promote a positive classroom environment and enforce discipline consistent with CPS policies.
