Job summary

The YMCA in Wisconsin is seeking a Swim Instructor to provide leadership, instruction, and a safe environment for swimming classes. You will work under the Aquatic Director, teach according to the YMCA’s program, and model the organization’s core values.

Weekend shifts and teamwork with other staff are essential. Qualifications include First-Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer, advanced swimming test, and lifeguard certification for applicants aged 15.

Qualifications

• Must pass an advanced swimming test.
• Current First-Aid certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• Applicants aged 15 must have lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim classes per YMCA program in an enthusiastic, engaging manner.
• Ensure safety and supervise participants during classes.
• Communicate student progress to parents/participants throughout sessions.
• Collaborate with aquatic staff and participate in trainings.
• Work scheduled shifts including weekends.
