Qualifications

• Must pass an advanced swimming test.
• Must have a current state approved First-Aid certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• Minimum age for this position is 15 years; applicants aged 15 require lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, nurturing, and genuine environment for members and guests.
• Conduct swim classes following YMCA lesson program with enthusiasm to maximize participation.
• Motivate swimmers on self-awareness and self-confidence through aquatics.
• Communicate student progress to participants and/or their parents throughout the session.
• Work scheduled shifts including weekend shifts; arrange substitutes with Aquatics Director approval.
• Uphold YMCA core values while interacting with people in YMCA facilities and the community.
