Job summary

iLEAD is seeking a substitute teacher to support the academy by providing staffing when extra help is needed to ensure program success. The role requires readiness to obtain an emergency one-year substitute certificate with a high school diploma or GED or a five-year certificate with a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities include following the absent teacher’s plans, maintaining classroom routines, supervising students, and reporting progress to the iLEAD Director.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required for a one-year emergency substitute certificate.
• A bachelor's degree qualifies applicants for a five-year substitute teaching certificate.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the iLEAD Director or designee upon arrival at the school building.
• Reviews with the iLEAD Director all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
• Teaches the lesson outlined and described in documents prepared by the absent teacher.
• Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the assigned classroom.
• Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch periods.
• Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject.
