Job summary

Pendleton County Schools is seeking a substitute classroom teacher to cover day-to-day teaching assignments as needed. The role requires adherence to WV standards and strong communication with students, staff, and parents.

The substitute will implement the curriculum, foster a positive learning environment, monitor progress, and maintain professional responsibilities in line with school policies.

Qualifications

• Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia State Board of Education for the licensure of West Virginia School Personnel.
• Good evaluations and/or recommendations from professional associates, employers, and/or supervisors.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, and parents, and to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to motivate students and get them excited about learning.
• Applicants with unsatisfactory past evaluations or interview performance will not be considered; prior dismissals/non-renewals may disqualify.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
