Job summary

Manitou Springs School District 14 is seeking a substitute teacher to cover assignments as needed within the district. Reporting to the Human Resources Specialist and building principals, you will follow lesson plans, deliver instruction, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Applicants should have a valid Colorado teaching license or substitute authorization, be dependable and punctual, and willing to assume duties such as playground, lunchroom, and hall supervision as required.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint/background screening required.
• Current Colorado Teaching License or Colorado Substitute Authorization.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the regular teacher with relevant information (behavior, attendance, etc.).
• Follow the lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Deliver instructional activities to students in a clear and concise manner.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit student needs.
• Provide additional instructional support to students as needed.
• Maintain a positive and conducive learning environment.
• Encourage student participation and engagement in the lesson.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
• Ensure students are supervised at all times.
• Perform duties such as playground, lunchroom, and hall duty as assigned.
• Report safety concerns to the principal or supervisor.
• Know duties in case of fire, tornado, or other emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry classroom materials.
• Manage a classroom environment.
