Job summary

Gainesville City Schools is seeking a Substitute Classroom Teacher to support short-term and long-term assignments. You will provide classroom instruction under the teacher of record and help maintain effective classroom management in a busy school setting.

Candidates should have at least an associate degree or higher, and may possess a Georgia Teaching Certificate or eligibility. Prior substitute teaching experience is preferred, and strong communication and organizational skills are essential

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher education beyond high school.
• Georgia Teaching Certificate or eligibility required.
• Experience as substitute teacher or teacher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction for the teacher of record.
• Maintain classroom management for the teacher of record.
• Participate in professional responsibilities as requested by the teacher of record.
• Ensure proper communication protocol with the teacher of record.
• Follow policies and regulations in working with students and staff.
• Demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
• Act in a professional manner.
• Assist with needs of students when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
