Job summary

Runge ISD is seeking a Substitute Teacher for short-term and long-term assignments. The role involves implementing lesson plans, maintaining classroom continuity, and supporting student learning under the supervision of the principal and assigned staff.

The position requires basic education credentials and the ability to follow plans, manage classrooms, and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of core academic subjects
• Knowledge of curriculum and instructional practices
• Ability to follow lesson plans and guidance
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
• Experience tutoring, coaching, or mentoring preferred

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by the absent teacher
• Maintain continuity of instruction during absence
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback
• Leave detailed notes on instructional activities and progress
• Supervise and manage classroom behavior effectively
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and administrators
