Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients referred for speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia dysfunction. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.

Responsibilities include administering evaluations, interpreting results, counseling patients and families, and documenting progress while supporting patients' educational, vocational, and social goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent education in speech-language pathology.
• New York State licensure for SLP (CCC-SLP preferred).
• 1 year of speech-language pathology experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech/language and/or cognitive evaluations, tests or examinations to patients.
• Evaluates test results and information to determine speech impairment and treatment.
• Counsels and instructs patients concerning communication disorders and coping strategies.
• Provides counseling and education to patients, families and caregivers to facilitate communication.
• Assists patients in developing communication and swallowing skills to support education, work, and social roles.
• Records and maintains reports of speech or swallowing treatments.
• Implements group therapy programs and participates in knowledge-sharing conferences.
