Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing in Leander, TX seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to K-12 students under the program administrator, in a contract full-time role.

You will collaborate with general education staff, plan and implement student programs, and support instruction, tutorials and consultation. Requires bachelor’s degree and state teaching certification; LBS1 endorsement preferred; CPR/health requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provide special education instruction to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
• Collaborate with general education staff to plan and implement student programs
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and provide access to appropriate services
