Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract-full-time position in Manor, Texas. The teacher will provide quality services to K-12 special education students under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, including planning, instruction, tutorials, and consultation with general education staff.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, state teaching certificate, and relevant endorsements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.
• Collaborate with Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff in planning and implementing student programs.
• Participate in special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation activities.
• Adhere to professional standards and health and safety requirements.
