Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Special Education and knowledge of supports for students with disabilities.
• Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the middle school level or with similar age groups.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and support staff.
• Relevant state certification or licensure in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain), and a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Ability to design differentiated instruction, manage classrooms positively, and use data to inform instructional decisions.
• Experience working in diverse, multicultural school communities and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching.
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools that support accessible learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individualized and small-group instruction for students with disabilities per IEPs and district standards.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet student needs.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding goals, strategies and outcomes.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams; engage in ongoing professional development.
