Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas Special Education teaching certificate with required endorsements.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scholars, parents, and staff to develop IEP through the ARD process for each scholar assigned.
• Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program and document preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials reflecting scholars' learning styles and needs.
• Modify curricula for special education scholars in regular classes and assist with assignments.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess scholar learning styles and plan instructional activities based on results.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet each scholar's needs.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers; use technology in teaching/learning.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of scholar achievement and ensure compliance with IEP.
