Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and Texas regulations.
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
• Experience working with students with autism or in a special education setting.
• Experience implementing behavior intervention strategies.
• ESL or bilingual certification is a plus.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and Texas regulations.
• Deliver individualized instruction to students with autism in self-contained and inclusive settings.
• Adapt curriculum and assessments to meet individual needs.
• Support academic, communication, social-emotional, and daily living skills.
• Implement BIPs and positive behavior supports.
• Monitor progress, collect data, and prepare required documentation.
• Collaborate with general educators, specialists, psychologists, families.
• Participate in ARD meetings and maintain compliant records.
• Create a structured, safe learning environment and foster independence.
• Attend district trainings and staff meetings.
