Job summary

Boston Public Schools is looking for paraprofessionals to support teachers and deliver an innovative, high quality education program for students. You will assist with direct instruction, prepare instructional materials, and help maintain an orderly classroom environment.

The role includes supervising students during field trips and supporting staff across classrooms. Requires a high school diploma or GED, college credits or degree, and working authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 48 credit hours or an associate's degree, or a passing standardized assessment (ParaPro or WorkKeys) is required.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Authorized to work in the United States by day one.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Assists with classroom activities and prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom setup and cleanup.
• Manages behavior using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
