Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools seeks a Social Studies Teacher to provide high-quality instruction at multiple locations in Alabama. You will implement a standards-based program, use technology for planning and delivery, and support diverse learners across grades and subjects.

The role reports to the Principal and operates on a 9-month schedule with a salary range reflecting degree level and ALSDE recognition. This is an exempt position with duties including collaboration, assessment, and school

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate.
• Must meet ESSA federal and state requirements or willingness to meet them.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Model appropriate and innovative use of technology for students.
• Facilitate and monitor the integration of technology in the classroom.
• Provide modifications for students with special needs, including ELL and exceptional education students.
• Select, develop, modify and adapt materials to support learning objectives and diverse backgrounds.
• Establish routines and behavior management procedures.
• Participate in administration of local and state testing as assigned.
• Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform planning.
• Communicate high learning expectations and real-world targets.
• Engage in school activities and professional growth.
