Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks a Long Term Substitute Speech-Language Pathologist to provide evaluation, intervention, and consultation for JK-8 and early childhood programs. The role blends clinical SLP services with instructional leadership within comprehensive support classrooms to promote communication, inclusion, and student growth.

Responsibilities include developing IEPs, coordinating with general education staff, training assistants, and partnering with families

Qualifications

• Current Illinois PEL Licensure with Speech-Language Pathology Endorsement (or eligibility).
• Strong knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
• Experience supporting students with significant disabilities and/or early childhood populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative speech and language services aligned to each student’s IEP.
• Design and implement communication systems, including AAC and other assistive technologies.
• Collaborate with staff to embed communication goals across the school day.
• Oversee and train instructional assistants in communication supports and classroom strategies.
