Job summary

Ascend Bank is seeking an External Mortgage Originator in Norwich, CT to cultivate relationships with real estate professionals and prospective borrowers. You will interview applicants, gather applications, and coordinate with processing to close loans efficiently.

You should have 3–5 years of bank lending experience, a 2-year degree, and strong sales skills; Spanish language ability is a plus. Compensation is market-based and equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of bank lending experience.
• Strong selling and sales organization experience.
• Two-year college degree or equivalent.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, lawyers and business owners to generate mortgage referrals.
• Interview applicants, collect a complete application, and set expectations for the loan process.
• Explain loan options, terms, and answer questions to ensure clear understanding.
• Prepare residential loan packages and manage them via pipeline tools for timely closings.
