Job summary

Centennial Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to solicit residential first mortgages through Realtors, builders, and developers. Interview loan applicants, determine creditworthiness, and make timely loan decisions while developing referral contacts within the bank region.

This role requires coordinating with branch offices, taking borrower applications, staying current with loan products and processing guidelines, and delivering complete loan packages to processors.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
• Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business articles; speak effectively before groups.

Responsibilities

• Solicit residential first mortgages through referrals from Realtors, builders and developers.
• Interview loan applicants and determine creditworthiness; make credit decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Take borrower applications and transmit to processor; collect documentation as needed.
• Develop referral contacts and handle referrals with timely follow-up.
