Job summary

CEN is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to solicit residential first mortgages through Realtors, builders, and developers. Interview loan applicants and make credit decisions while maintaining high levels of customer service.

You will handle referrals, develop referral contacts, and analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. Stay current on loan products and underwriting guidelines, take borrower applications, and ensure timely processing with proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of accounting, marketing, business administration, finance.
• Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 4 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants and make credit decisions.
• Work with assigned branch office to ensure awareness of home loan products.
• Handle referrals from branch office and provide follow-up.
• Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts).
• Analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness.
• Maintain knowledge of loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Take borrower applications and transmit to processor.
• Collect documentation and deliver loan packages to processor in a timely manner.
• Attend lending meetings and comply with training requirements.
