Job summary

City of Beaumont California seeks an entry-level Recreation Leader to support the coordination and implementation of recreation, leisure, educational, and community services programs. Under supervision, you will assist with camps, classes, events, sports, and facility operations at City facilities and virtual settings.

You will help plan, lead, and monitor activities for diverse age groups, ensure safety, maintain records, and support registrations and customer service.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the eleventh grade, or seventeen years of age.
• Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License and maintain possession of such license during the course of employment.
• Some experience working with groups, children, youth, sports, recreation activities, community programs, or in a customer service environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and conduct recreation programs and activities at City-owned facilities, park sites, and other assigned locations, including virtual programs, summer camps, special events, youth sports, classes, and other recreational activities.
• Lead and participate in recreation activities such as sports, games, crafts, arts and crafts, dance, outdoor activities, educational activities, and general play for children, youth, adults, and seniors.
• Observes safety precautions and procedures to help ensure the safety of participants, staff, volunteers, and facility users.
• Maintains accurate participant attendance, activity, equipment, and program records.
