Job summary

Rural King in Altoona, PA is seeking a Receiving Associate to ensure accurate receiving, inventory control, and smooth merchandise movement throughout the store. This role receives shipments, processes purchase orders, verifies inventory, and replenishes merchandise on the sales floor.

You will use scan guns and computer systems to document receipts and inventory, identify discrepancies, and maintain receiving records.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of receiving, warehouse, inventory, freight, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with purchase orders, inventory control, or shipping/receiving preferred.
• Comfortable using computers, scan guns, and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments and process purchase orders according to SOPs.
• Use scan guns and computer systems to document receipts and inventory.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies (PO, DC, vendor).
• Maintain accurate receiving records and research negative on-hand inventory.
• Verify merchandise pricing, labels, and security tags as required.
• Unload, sort, organize, and distribute freight throughout the store.
• Replenish merchandise and assist with sales floor inventory during high-demand periods.
• Process store-to-store transfers, shipping, and UPS shipments accurately.
• Follow apparel receiving and merchandising procedures ( tagging, labeling, racks).
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, scan guns, and other equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
• Participate in cross-training and support other store departments as needed.
