Job summary

Usphysicaltherapy2 is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to implement therapy programs and support recovery plans in our Virginia outpatient clinic.

You will provide comprehensive patient care, utilize various modalities, and document progress while collaborating with the PT team. Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program with Virginia licensure or eligibility and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a PTA or ability to obtain it in Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• Previous outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement physical therapy programs and follow recovery plans and deliver treatments.
• Provide patient care per established protocols and guidelines.
• Document daily notes, weekly reports, progress reports, and incident reports.
• Administer active and passive manual therapy, modalities, and cryotherapy/heat therapy.
• Instruct and assist patients in learning functional activities like ambulation and daily living tasks.
• Observe patients during treatments and report progress to the Physical Therapist and Clinical Director.
• Fit patients for and train with braces, crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Collaborate with PT staff and other health team members for care plans.
• Measure range of joint motion, and vital signs to assess treatment effects.
