Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners in Middletown, CT, is seeking an Entry-level Physical Therapy Technician. The role involves assisting therapists, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining clean, safe facilities in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, and strong communication and customer service skills. Experience in outpatient PT or personal training is preferred. Hours vary, with an emphasis on weekends and daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and customer service skills.
• Able to follow directions from physical and/or occupational therapist.
• Experience in an outpatient physical therapy clinic or personal training environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to treatment areas.
• Observe patients during treatments and report to the physical therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises under the direction of the physical therapist.
• Prepare treatment areas for patient care.
• Prepare modality treatments under supervision (electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs, iontophoresis, BFRT, and other modalities).
• Keep treatment areas, tables, equipment and gym area clean and disinfected.
• Keep machines clean and in working order; report any problems.
• Perform deep cleaning of equipment.
• File exercise flowsheets as necessary.
• Assist with orientation and training of new physical therapy technicians.
• Perform supply inventory and unpack/check-in supply orders.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Adhere to HIPAA/OSHA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
