Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Phys Asst – Primary Care to maintain and promote patient health in an outpatient primary care setting. The APP will practice under the supervision of a licensed physician, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care, conducting physicals, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and referring to specialists when needed.

The role requires two years of advanced practice experience, a Master’s degree or higher, and Texas PA

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a related field.
• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience; two in primary care preferred.
• Current licensure as PA in Texas and NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care to primary care patients.
• Order tests, prescribe medications, and refer to specialists as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians in an outpatient primary care setting under indirect supervision.
• Demonstrate leadership as a clinical resource and contribute to team-based care.
