Job summary

Houston Methodist Primary Care Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Physician Assistant for Primary Care to deliver high-quality care in an outpatient setting. Under physician supervision, you will diagnose, treat, and prevent illness, perform physicals, order tests, prescribe medications, and refer patients to specialists as needed.

Two years of APP experience, especially in primary care, and a Master's degree or higher are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher required.
• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience.
• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience in primary care, family medicine, or outpatient internal medicine preferred.
• PA licensure and certification required in Texas (PA State Licensure) and NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification and DEA license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care in outpatient primary care settings.
• Order tests and therapies, prescribe medications, and refer to specialists as appropriate.
• Work under the indirect supervision of a licensed physician or as part of a treatment team.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and effective communication with patients and care teams.
