Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to evaluate and treat patients across orthopedic, neurological, and functional rehab contexts. You will implement the plan of care under the physical therapist and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students.

The role includes patient/family education, documentation, and a range of modalities such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant required.
• Licensure as PTA (IDFPR Illinois) or equivalent currently licensed/certified.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and ability to complete board exam if required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families using clear teaching methods.
• Follow and adjust therapist's plan of care based on patient response.
• Document daily notes and communicate with evaluating therapist.
• Administer treatments: therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
• Coordinate with PT on patient treatment and progress.
