Qualifications

• Current physical therapy assistant licensure in the applicable state.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Four years PTA experience.

Responsibilities

• Applies research-based techniques to prevent or treat conditions that limit movement and function by implementing the plan of care established by a physical therapist.
• Determine/revise priorities for direct/indirect patient care activities; collaborate with nursing to update safe patient handling algorithms.
• Instruct patient and caregiver in treatment programs, precautions and equipment use and document demonstrations.
• Document all treatments in the EMR according to department policies.
• Submit accurate charges for services rendered using the billing system via the patient’s EMR.
• Oversee supervision of students and volunteers.
