Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services seeks a Credentialed Physical Therapist to plan and administer treatment for patients/residents recovering from illness or injury. You will review referrals, coordinate with physicians, and document progress to ensure effective care.

You will supervise aides, conduct staff training, and adapt therapy plans based on evaluations and patient response. Local travel may be required; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Credentialed graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program and licensed in the state where practicing.
• Prior experience in physical therapy preferred.
• Ability to life 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 10 pounds.
• Travel within a local area as needed for patient treatment.
• Communicate effectively with residents, other therapy staff, and facility staff in general.
• Must comply with Employee Handbook terms and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate physician referrals and patient/resident medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
• Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of available patient/resident data.
• Confer with physician and other health practitioners to obtain additional patient/resident information, revise treatment plans, and integrate therapy with other care.
• Record patient/resident treatment, response, and progress.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides; may instruct students in PT/PTA programs.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and guide movements to improve function.
• Perform tests, measurements, and evaluations to aid in establishing or revising treatment programs.
• Instruct and assist patients in non-manual exercises and functional activities; utilize assistive devices as needed.
• Maintain documentation consistent with third party reimbursement and center policies.
• Assist in recruitment, attend department meetings, and participate in budget planning as needed.

Education

Physical Therapy degree and licensed in practicing state
