Job summary

YMCA of NorthWest North Carolina in Kernersville is seeking a dedicated Personal Trainer to deliver individual and small group fitness instruction, design customized exercise programs, and conduct assessments to help members reach health goals.

You will recruit clients, promote wellness programs, and foster engaging relationships to support retention, while leading sessions ranging from one-on-one to boot camps and small groups.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, exercise physiology, fitness testing, and movement execution across populations.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills to engage members and recruit clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exercise testing and create customized, progressive exercise prescriptions for diverse populations.
• Lead one-on-one sessions, small groups (2–4), and boot camps with safe instruction and motivation.
• Recruit new clients, promote YMCA wellness programs, and manage session tracking.
• Build rapport with members and assist with events or master classes.
• Follow YMCA procedures and emergency protocols; participate in meetings and trainings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
