YMCA of Catawba Valley in Hickory, NC seeks a Personal Trainer to instruct, supervise and reinforce proper fitness techniques in the Fitness Center under the Wellness Director. You will develop sessions, assess health history, educate on equipment, and promote programs while maintaining records and safety standards.

As a member of the professional staff, you will uphold YMCA culture, deliver high‑quality programming, and engage with members to support health and well‑being goals.

Formación

• CPR/AED, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Formal training in the specialty class being taught and/or ability to demonstrate movements.
• Minimum 1 year experience in health and fitness field is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and instruct a variety of personal and group training sessions based on client needs.
• Administer health history questionnaires and fitness assessments.
• Educate members on proper use of equipment.
• Promote and sell personal training programs and services.
• Maintain client lists and records per Program Director.
• Follow Wellness Floor expectations when not scheduled for training or consultations.
• Conduct fitness instruction and orientation.
• Interact with members, train/educate, and maintain equipment.
• Maintain a neat, clean Fitness Center environment.
• Promote YMCA programs and healthy living through example and interaction.
