Job summary

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina in Winston-Salem is seeking a Personal Trainer to deliver individualized and small-group fitness instruction. You will design customized exercise programs, conduct assessments, and help members reach their health goals.

This role requires recruiting new clients, promoting wellness programs, and maintaining positive relationships with members across all fitness levels while adhering to safety procedures and YMCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, exercise physiology, fitness testing, and movement execution across various populations, supported by a recognized national personal training credential.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills (including social media savvy) to engage members, build rapport, and recruit clients effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and design progressive exercise prescriptions for diverse clients.
• Lead 1:1 and small group sessions (2–4) and boot camps with safe instruction.
• Recruit new clients; promote YMCA wellness programs; track sessions.
• Build relationships with members; energize wellness center; assist with events.
• Follow YMCA procedures and emergency protocols; stay updated on trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
