Qualifications

• Minimum one-year front office experience in a physician office or hospital access department.
• Proficient with multi-line phone systems and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platforms.
• Keyboarding speed of 35 wpm and Windows-based computer experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule hospital and clinic services, including pre-registration and insurance verification.
• Handle check-in, estimates, payments, and patient check-out; in-person scheduling.
• Utilize EPIC to gather scheduling information and ensure timely throughput.
• Verify insurance eligibility and ensure accurate registration per department standards.
• Deliver first-call resolution and maintain high-quality customer service throughout interactions.
• Document and enter data accurately and maintain up-to-date patient records.
