Job summary

Pikes Peak State College seeks part-time instructors for Medical Office Technology to teach and mentor students in clinical office skills, exams, and lab activities. Instructors work under the Department Chair or Dean and support department needs across campus locations in Colorado.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction per course outlines, evaluating progress, maintaining records, and promoting inclusive teaching.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in a patient-care field is required.
• At least 4,000 verified occupational hours in the last five years.
• One year of medical office experience.
• Three years of back-office/clinical health care experience applicable to medical assisting.

Responsibilities

• Meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction per approved course outlines.
• Use varied teaching methods to reach diverse student backgrounds and ensure objective mastery.
• Inform students of course requirements via a syllabus with objectives and assessment methods.
• Evaluate student progress and provide ongoing feedback.
• Participate in department/college level assessment of student learning outcomes.
• Maintain and submit records as required by policy and procedures.
• Promote affirmative action and equal opportunity concepts within responsibilities.
• Maintain required credentials and up-to-date knowledge in subject matter area.
