Job summary

Pikes Peak State College seeks a Part-time Instructor in Music Audio Technology to join a pool of qualified instructors in Colorado Springs. Instructors teach courses, conduct presentations, or other activities when regular staff are unavailable, under the supervision of department leadership.

Must be a State of Colorado resident or relocate to Colorado before the first date of employment. Courses may be day or evening, in-person or hybrid as needed, with PERA benefits described.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
• Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 2,000 hours of related industry work experience (approx. 1 year full-time).
• Minimum of 4,000 hours of related industry work experience (approx. 2 years full-time).
• Preferred: experience teaching at the post-secondary/college level.

Responsibilities

• Meet all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and deliver instruction per approved outlines.
• Use varied teaching methods to reach diverse learners and help mastery of objectives.
• Inform students of course requirements via syllabus and assessment criteria.
• Evaluate student progress on a continuing basis and provide feedback.
