Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist for the Winthrop Clinic outpatient location. The 40-hour workweek involves comprehensive assessments and individual/group treatments to promote mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and help patients return home and to work.

Reporting to the Rehabilitation Therapies Supervisor/Manager, you will educate patients, collaborate with other disciplines, supervise students, and participate in continuing education.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families and health care team.
• Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition and progress to develop treatment programs.

Responsibilities

• Conducts PT evaluation procedures within 24 hours of consult and completes evaluation/documentation promptly.
• Establishes measurable treatment goals in collaboration with patient and caregiver; plans discharge needs and follow-up.
• Implements comprehensive individual and group treatment with appropriate assistive devices/equipment as needed.
• Documents care accurately and maintains productivity standards; participates in peer review and mandatory trainings.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team for follow-up care and continuity of care.
• Supervises students and supports staff; engages in continuous education and department activities.
• Leads and participates in departmental and hospital initiatives and committees.
