Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist for the Outpatient Winthrop Clinic in Boston, MA. The role conducts comprehensive assessments, plans and implements individualized treatments to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and promote independence.

Qualifications

• Work requires Bachelor’s / Master’s or equivalent in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution by time of hire.
• Massachusetts license by time of hire is required.
• APTA and MCAPTA membership preferred.
• New grads welcome; experienced therapists encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification by time of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to consults within 24 hours; completes evaluation and documentation within 24 hours of consult (IP).
• Reviews patient records, gathers information, and obtains physician’s order prior to assessment.
• Selects evaluation procedures reflecting patient’s diagnosis, abilities, and limitations.
• Administers evaluation procedures per standardized tests; adapts procedures to patient needs.
• Interprets evaluation results, develops diagnostic impression, and makes recommendations.
• Performs re-evaluations per departmental policies or changes in patient status.
• Educates patient and caregiver regarding evaluation findings and management of care.
