Job summary

AVA Garden Bar, located in Ballpark Village, is seeking a bartender to join its premier nightlife venue in St. Louis. You will provide energetic and professional service, mix cocktails, pour wine and beer, and take guest orders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include promoting promotions, handling payments, checking IDs, and maintaining knowledge of products to enhance guest experiences. Weekend and night shifts are commonly required, with equal emphasis on safety and guest

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience bartending at high-volume bars/nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, and garnishments.
• Formal bartending training preferred.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages a plus.
• Strong communication with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification or food service permit as required by local/state agencies.
• Reading and writing abilities for taking orders and paperwork.
• Basic math skills for handling payments and receipts.
• May work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism.
• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to recipes.
• Serve wine, bottled or draft beer.
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or guests.
• Record and account for items ordered and secure payment.
• Present and promote current promotions to guests.
• Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age.
• Ensure all sales and receipts are recorded per company policies.
• Complete side work as assigned.
• Be knowledgeable about products to guide guest experience.
