Job summary

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is seeking an Event Support Specialist to assist with the execution of internal and external events, including openings, galas, lectures and weddings.

This role requires professionalism, flexibility for variable hours including weekends, and duties ranging from setup to teardown, A/V support and guest relations. The position is non-exempt and part-time with occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can substitute for 1 year of related work experience.
• Department may hire at Event Support Specialist, I level requiring little to no related experience.

Responsibilities

• Courteously assist event guests with coat check and ushering.
• Manage basic A/V functions and support.
• Foster good working relationships with vendors by helping when needed or requested.
• Work dependably, with or without supervision, and problem solve using available materials.
• Efficiently break down and store tables, chairs, linens, décor and A/V equipment at the end of each event.
• Ensure event spaces and surrounding areas are clean before and after events.
