Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator in Ann Arbor, MI. You will originate residential loans for outside referrals, manage the loan from application to closing, and ensure a positive customer experience while handling risk in line with policy.

The role requires an understanding of lending guidelines, processing, underwriting, and closing procedures, plus strong communication and sales skills. Base salary with incentive opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four-year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professionals).
• Take applicant applications by completing Fannie Mae 1003 form.
• Manage pipeline for all originated loans through closing.
• Communicate with branches and applicants with timely updates.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and available loan products.
• Attend Consumer Lending meetings as required.
