Job summary

First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie is seeking a Modern Worship Leader to plan, rehearse, and lead weekly worship with energy and a welcoming presence. This part-time, hourly role involves coordinating volunteers, guiding youth helpers, and ensuring a consistent worship message across services.

You will work with Planning Center and Canva to prepare slides, recruit and train volunteers, and run weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, with Sunday morning services.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and direct a volunteer team.
• Experience working with youth volunteers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, rehearse, and recruit volunteers for weekly Modern Worship service.
• Recruit and equip volunteers to serve as musicians, hospitality, ushers, readers, and tech crew.
• Conduct weekly rehearsal with musicians for Sunday Morning Worship services.
• Lead worship with an engaging presence to encourage participation.
• Develop slide presentations communicating worship contents and church news.
• Provide training and feedback to volunteers.
• Communicate practice schedules and expectations to volunteers.
• Coordinate with sound/video volunteers to address needs in advance.
